Hi, fab lady! I’m so glad you stopped by. 🙂
While you’re here, let’s chat about one of the simplest solutions to upping the luxe-factor of your look in sheer seconds…
It’s the silk scarf.
Timeless. Eye-Catching. And, pretty darn underrated if you ask me!
With its incredible versatility and with the multitude of magnificent prints available on the market, a silk scarf is the easiest wardrobe addition if you’re looking to add a little glamour to a basic #ootd.
Don’t sell the silk scarf short, it’s not merely a neck accessory! Wrap it around your wrist multiple times to create a bold bracelet, or even wear it as a belt! If you want to show your handbag some love, tie a silk scarf on the handle to add a little something extra.
If you do choose to wear it in the traditional manner, as I did, there are countless ways to tie it up and show it off. I doubt you’ll ever wear it the same way twice!
In addition to the silk scarf, this fabulous triple-wrap belt really livened up this look. And, let’s be honest, an accessory that cinches the waist is always a must-have, right ladies? I’ll probably be wrapping it around every ensemble come fall!
This magnificent maxi by Rachel Pally is the epitome of casual, cool & COMFY. If you have a penchant for a little print-action, this patterned version is absolutely darling as well. In true Rachel Pally form, the fabric is sumptuously soft. She is one of my favorite designers because her clothing CAN’T BE BEAT in both comfort and cuteness 🙂 Her items do tend to run large, so if you purchase this dress I recommend sizing down. I’m wearing an x-small.
When styling this ensemble, I decided to let the scarf make the major color statement by keeping all of the other accessories neutral. This fringe bag from St. Bernard Sports is the perfect transitional piece as we move into fall, and it’s only $58! Also, I couldn’t resist pairing this ensemble with my favorite Rockstud block heel sandals. Unfortunately, this heeled version is sold out, but these flat Rockstud sandals are the same color & they would work just as well! I kept my jewelry minimal with two delicate Gorjana bracelets that you can find here & here.
Any other Gorjana girls out there?!
I’m pretty darn obsessed! I absolutely adore how each and every piece is light and layerable. #fangirl
How To Dress up Your Denim – sally fashions
Hey there, lady!
Thank you for stopping by the blog.
If you’re a self-proclaimed lace lover and denim devotee (like me!), then today’s look is right up your alley. The combination of the two strikes the most brilliant balance between dressing up and dressing down. I like to refer to such attire as “casual elegance”.
I will freely admit that I am of the belief that a woman can never be too overdressed. I always err on the side of fancy, but let’s be honest, there IS a limit to that statement. If you’re wearing a ball gown at a BBQ, you’re probably not going to feel appropriately dressed…
The best solution is to mix and match formal and informal pieces with one another. Oftentimes, this will result in a quintessential pairing.
In this case, the femininity of the lace skirt (also available in this vibrant yellow!) offsets the casual denim vibes, so the result is a fancy-ISH look of balance. Nothing adds effortless ease to an ensemble like a little blue jean beauty. So, a simple denim button down can’t be beat. And, for some pattern play, I paired it with this Clare V Clutch (aka the clutch that makes ANY outfit look THAT much better). If you recall, I purchased this clutch after giving it a whirl through Try.com, my favorite shopping innovation of the year by far!
For the Love of Fashion – sally fashions
If you’ve been following me since I started this crazy-fun blogging journey just 5 short months ago, you may notice that I’ve decided to re-brand a bit and change the name of my blog from Fitness & Frills to Fashion & Frills. Sure, the name change is subtle (I bet most won’t even notice!), but I couldn’t be happier with the slight revamp.
Above all, fashion has always been my first love. It’s what excites me most and it’s what I look forward to sharing with you! I’ll forever be a fitness advocate and devotee, but I’ve found that my blog-self much prefers writing about fashion (and beauty, too!). Fitness is fab, but the writing is too technical for my liking. I’m more of the creative writing type, you know? With a love for learning new words (as evidenced by my lifelong addiction to the thesaurus…), I enjoy the art of crafting sentences with my readers in mind. It’s such a delight!
For all of you health nuts out there (myself included!), there’s no need to fret! I’ll continue to offer up my favorite low-sugar, healthified recipes like the strawberry champagne pops & the crazy-good cookie butter bites! I’ll always dig guilt-free dessert, so those recipes will keep coming your way!
Hopefully all of that blog talk didn’t drive you absolutely bananas – if so, hang in there with me! It’s finally time to talk clothes. From the color combo & the cut to the center slit & the stripes, this dress is a winner in my book. With short sleeves to keep you cool in the summer, but a color palette that’s suitable for fall, this dress is the epitome of a transitional piece. You won’t have to stow this baby away when the leaves start to change, as a matter of fact, you’ll most likely just blend right in with the colors of the season!
I decided to keep my accessories classic with cat eye sunnies, gold bracelets, and Tory times two! I’ve gotten more use out of this Tory Burch bag than I ever even imagined, and her logo earrings are such beauties. Unfortunately this particular pair is sold out, but these drop earrings are super similar and would work just as well!
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog! If you have a spare minute or two, I would LOVE to learn a bit more about you in the comments. 🙂 Also, always feel free to ask me any questions or to offer up any suggestions! I’m so happy that you’re joining me as I live and learn and blog my days away, all for the love of fashion…and frills!
