If You Want To Feel Like Cinderella… – fashion inc

Hi beauty,

So glad you’re here!  Today things are getting a bit fancy (and I don’t mean Iggy Azalea Fancy), I mean fairy-tale fancy…

Perhaps it’s because I had a dreamy time at Disneyland just two weekends ago, or maybe it’s because I have a penchant for Cinderella-blue…either which way, I knew that this marvelous maxi would make me feel like an absolute fairy-tale.

A frilly girl at heart, dressing up and feeling fancy is one my most favorite things.  Needless to say, wearing this dress was an absolute delight!  The lovely lace detailing makes this maxi formal enough for an evening affair. Or, dress it down a bit by pairing it with these lace-up gladiators that are gilded with gold.  They have been my best sandal purchase of the summer.  I highly recommend them!

As I mentioned in this previous post, I’ve been falling head over heels for ultra-fem, soft hues. Whether it be pale pink, beige, or blue, I’m loving the ladylike vibes that these colors lend to an ensemble.  However, when you’re wearing pastels head to toe, a statement bag with a little razzle dazzle is always a fab way to punch up the fun factor.  This bejeweled beauty had me at hello! And, since we’re talking accessories, I owe a big thank you to my sweet friend Amanda of The Miller Affect for letting me borrow these fantastic tassel drops! My ears have never been so happy! 🙂

Despite all of the fabulousness mentioned above, I would have to say what I love most about this maxi is it’s light and airy feel.  It has some major movement thanks to the fluttery fabric and the center slit, so you can sashay the night away!

P.S. In addition to the blue, this amaze maxi also comes in pink, white & black, so you’re covered no matter your color crush!

Dreamy Pleated Dress & New York Fashion Week Giveaway! – fashion inc

Hi lovely!

So glad you’re here!

I hope your hump day is off to a fabulous start AND I hope today’s post encourages you to flash some major color with your clothing this upcoming weekend – we’re halfway there, after all!

Anywho, am I the only one that’s in a cocktail dress coma?!  With so many summer weddings and soirees, “cocktail dress attire” has probably been your weekend uniform as of late.  Sure, a classic LBD will always do, but sometimes it’s fun to punch it up a notch or two with bold brights that are sure to stand out from the crowd.

Doesn’t this dress have statement-maker written all over it?!  I sure think so.  I stumbled upon it thanks to my friend Brooke of One Small Blonde.  She pointed it out while we were doing a bit of post-brunch (and post-bellini!) shopping, and I was starstruck right away!  The juxtaposition of the feminine details, like the lace and the pleats, with the bold & bright color-blocked hues, makes for a dynamite dress.  You won’t be able to be a wallflower in this little number.

Now on to something even MORE EXCITING…

These FAB shoes that I found this past weekend!  They are identical to the Schutz Caged Sandals I’ve been crushing on like crazy, but THESE are $80 less! I’m not joking people, they look THE EXACT SAME. Take a look for yourself…quite the dupe, right?

How to Try On Clothes Before You Buy Online – This Changes Everything! – fashion inc

Hi fabulous friend!

If you consider yourself an online shopping aficionado (as I do), then this post is going to rock your world!

We’ve all been there – you find what appears to be THE MOST FLATTERING, GOTTA-HAVE-IT, EXPEDITE THE SHIPPING-WORTHY piece of clothing through an online retailer.

So what do you do?  Point. Click. Purchase.

After much anticipation, and numerous peeks out the window for that big, brown UPS delivery truck (aka: Santa’s Sleigh),  a lovely package arrives on your doorstep and it feels like Christmas came early! You slip on your new item, whether it be that perfect summer skirt or a dream-worthy pair of denim flares, and it’s just not workin’ as well as you had hoped.

It might be the size, the color, the cut, the fabric, the length…so many things can go wrong!

Such a bummer, right?

You already paid for the item in full, so despite returns being fairly easy these days, you still have to watch your bank account like a hawk to ensure that your money makes it back safe and sound.

Luckily, the Try Button for Google Chrome, is revolutionizing this process, and in my opinion, they’re doing a stellar job!

In the words of Try.com’s CEO, “We don’t want to live in a world where we’re not in control of what we spend our money on, and that’s why we had to build Try.com.  We’re tired of finding out that it doesn’t quite fit right. That the fabric is itchy. That we have to wait 14-days for a refund. ”

I don’t know about you, but I wholeheartedly agree!

So, if you don’t want to pay upfront for a pair of trousers that might be too tight, or if you have fitting room-phobia like lots of us ladies, Try.com might be just the thing for you.  I knew I had to give it a whirl so that I could share my experience!

First things first, could their current list of retailers get any better?!

Well, yes…I need Nordstrom in my life so I’m sad that they’re missing from the list.  But, I will say, I’m impressed with Try.com’s current lineup.  From Asos and Revolve to ShopBop and Neimans, Try.com is working with a lot of my faves.

After downloading the Try.com Google Chrome Extension, you will see a “Try For Free” option on all items available through the retailers above.  I’ve provided a screenshot from J.Crew below as an example – take a look right above “Add To Bag”.   Isn’t this dress darling? I might just have to give it a “try”…

After you receive the item you are trying, you will have 10 days to decide whether you will keep or return.  I decided to try items from both ShopBop and Revolve.  As you can see in the screenshot below, Try.com will keep you updated with a countdown so that you know how many days are remaining in your trial period.  If you don’t let them know within the allotted time, you will be charged for the merchandise.  The Clare V. clutch that I tried in the screenshot below, is going to stay with me for sure!!

Unfortunately, this Shoshanna Fringe Frock didn’t fair as well.  It arrived just as adorable as I had imagined, but it was a bit too big.  It would actually be a perfect, flowy beach cover-up (but I don’t need another one of those!) If you do purchase, I would recommend sizing down.

Even though I was sad to see it go, returning this dress was a breeze through Try.com.  I give the entire process two thumbs up!  For your first try, you will be limited to trying 5 items.  You will earn +1 Try every time you decide to keep something through Try.com.  Isn’t that fab?

Currently, Try.com is invite only.  Copy & paste this link into your browser if you would like an invite : https://www.try.com/r/christinaXFVR

I’ve linked to some amaze items below that I’ve had my eye on lately!  They are all eligible through try, but of course you can always go right ahead and buy.  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!!  I hope your day is absolutely marvelous 🙂
